Re: Temperature & Gold Nuggets
Not sure about such a theory Adrian, but if that were to be the case with naturally buried, undisturbed gold nuggets, then what are we to expect from ground mineralization come hotter days?

I reckon the same Adrian, as soon as we get a hot spell after winter the gold signals tend to pop a little better
and I think the hot rocks tend to sing a little more. It may be BS but I don't care as long as the gold keeps a popp'n

Re: Temperature & Gold Nuggets
Well those jolly ole Eddy Currents flow more easily through (at the surface) of heated metallic nuggs more than through hot rocks. On the other hand those hot rocks really fire up when heated.

Re: Temperature & Gold Nuggets
Not only fire up when heated Adrian, but tend to drown out those faint positive in ground target signal responses, over ground now highly mineralized.

Re: Temperature & Gold Nuggets
Yes Kon, even with our high tech PI's the hot rocks are still causing problems but nowhere near as problematic as in the old days aye.
When the PI's branched out into the gold fields from being primarily saltwater scuba dive machines they could be tuned to function very well as gold detectors but lost their ability to function well over the salt beaches; You can not have yer cake and eat it....until ML came along and changed the rules.
Now I have 4 PI's one of which will operate anywhere from 200 foot down on the ocean floor to out in the middle of the Aussie No mans Land.
All we need now to satisfy everybody, is a PI with full range discrimination...I think that one might be in the too hard tray.
