Hello i am a newbie to gold detecting I have a Gold bug pro live on the Northside of Brisbane have only found the wife’s gold ring in the back yard has I placed it there😁 to test out the Gold bug, any advice on places which might help me find my first gold piece and info on sort of ground which would be useful thanks Peter

Welcome Peter, good luck with it all, as we've seen from recent finds from joe there is good gold in QLD.
But a lot of QLD [east coast] is inaccessible jungle and farm lease hold.
Joining a detecting club might be handy?

Welcome Peter,
The closest legal location for you to find gold is at the GPA (General Prospecting Area) out at Durikai near Warwick or up at Gympie where they have a small GPA.
