Lazy ? Maybe
Just wondering if im getting Lazy or just not real happy at the moment .
G`day all ,
I have`nt been detecting lately but last week my wife said why dont we go to the beach and take the SD2200 and the explorer 2 , As i was ran over by a Methampedimine afected driver in febuary and had my left leg snapped in 5 places and my Knee smashed like small rocks i recently had a new Knee fitted ,,, man thats pain ,,,
So to shorten a long story we went to the beach , I found the usual ring pulls and tent pegs ,,, but then BOOM I find a old lock from a 12 guage shotgun ,,, ,
Thay made my day !

Great find Gravel01,
Just in case you don't know about this method for cleaning up rusted items with minimal change to structure.
Visit your local Coles or Woolies and purchase a tin on molasses.
Place your find in a container, possibly a litre plastic milk bottle with spout cut off.
Pour the molasses over the item completely covering it.
Leave the item for at least two weeks, remove it wash it with water and check result. If there is still rust present place it back in the molasses and give it another couple of weeks and so on.
Once you are happy with result bring out the WD40 and give it a spray.
***Hope to see the results in a month or so. **

I have a product called "Deoxidene" it does a similar job to molasses just a bit quicker ,,, I was thinking hanging it in the shed as I found it ,,, what do you think been in the surf for 20 + years ,, we just had big storms here in Jervis Bay NSW

Re: Lazy ? Maybe
Deoxidine Skin contact : Causes severe burns. Ingestion : May be harmful if swallowed. May cause burns to mouth, throat and stomach.
Molasses, no danger effects at all.
If it was me, I'd take the slow road, no hurry here and appreciate the results.

Unusual find mate.
Sounds like you have been in the wars mate, so likely not just lazy.
I agree; knee replacement pain can be above and beyond.....But that is what Endone is for aye!

Re: Lazy ? Maybe
Hmm, be interesting to know why a shotgun was disposed of into the sea. It might have a sinister history.

I'd say there's certainly a sinister story behind the disposal of this weapon... but it's a great find - and an interesting one at that.

Use of Molasses
I would be more inclined to eat the molasses than the Deoxidine that's for sure.
Great find, the rest of the gun is probably nearby as well.
