How does those white/purple arms grab the GOLD mate.

This machine is a beast. Will look good in my lounge room or doing demos at the local high school.
5 foot sparks Might clear the air of corona virus. I wonder if it likes ozone

This is the oldie tuned down a bit so it would work in the shed.
Sparks are about 26 inches long and hit the roof.

Picked up a small made in China Tesla about two years ago and never got round to unpacking it, so now that I am back in a Tesla mood Thought I would check it out..
It is Okay and quality is quite good. Tossed it together and gave it a run.

Is fine and produces approx 10 inch discharges. can also play music if you feed it with square wave audio.

Bummer! Just after that last pic the power supply MOSFETS decided to blow.

All fixed now. Although the power supply input fuse is blowing on a bit too regular basis when the unit is running full power. GRRRRRRR .Might have ta stick a 6 inch nail in the fuse holder.

Well worth watching.
My little machines power supply has smoked itself once too often (mosfets blew their guts out, literally) and is now in the fix it later bin.
  I cranked the input volts up a bit and things worked fine in low power selection but when i selected high power the mosfets disagreed and said stuff this I'm outa here.

pity Adrian I was going to ask if it worked in any other part of your anatomy

Got a different sparky thingo. Seems more stable than the other one.
Discharge is about 10 +  inches

This son of a gun bites.
Won't be lighting up any globes in my gob with this one.  
Held an earth wire up to the discharge load and the spark bypassed the earth and nailed me good. Spark here is about 11.5 inches. May not be the 26 inch discharges that my old original not so well tuned tesla could dish out but not bad for what this little one is.


Interesting how some of the discharges can start out quite zig zaggy and then become be fairly  straight ish.


Place a glass jar over the top load and bright orange flashes appear along the plasma flows

Just found out that if you spray a bit of hair spray into the jar and up-end it over the top load and fire the tesla the jar launches like a rocket.
I knew it would do that, I just wanted to see it.

I recall when i was 16 or 17 and had built my first tesla coil I rigged up a setup so I could put hydrogen into a large plastic bottle. I made the hydrogen using a high school science experiment set up . Screwed a spark plug into the bottle lid and connected the tesla output to the spk plug and fired the tesla and Walla! a hydrogen bomb that worked very well. Mum was not happy and I never did that again.

you'll have asio knocking on your door if you mention hydrogen bomb too much.
Nothing like building a bomb or two as a young buck,glad you are still here to talk about it.

Do you happen to remember the password used for the rar archive which came with this tesla coil? Containing the operating instructions, de-bugging instructions, sample music files and software that converts music? (One machine manual in English一体机说明书英文版-1 qycs1708.rar)

Like you i purchased one of these around 2 to 3 years ago now, a replacement had to be sent as the first arrived damaged, by the time it all got sorted out it was left in the box and forgotton about. I pulled it out yesterday to try it out, then when trying to extract the rar archive containing the files mentioned above, it asks for a password. I did know this when i had the first tesla coil arrive, however, i've misplaced it over the years and now cant find it.

So, do you adrian ss happen to remember what your password was for your files? I have spent many hours googling this, and this is the closest i have came to finding someone with the exact same tesla coil.

What password?? I have no password in relation to my tesla coils.
Which tesla do you have and what are you trying to find out. Will see if I can find the info that came with the tesla. I tend not to read instructions very often....Probably why I blew up one of my teslas.

I have the exact same tesla coil as yourself in the above picture ( blue and black acrylic housing the electronics, the chinese one you built). Mine came with a usb stick which has videos showing how to use the tesla coil, videos of how to tune it to get the best music sound, many pdf files of various instructions and schematics, already converted music files along with software to convert your own music in order to play on the tesla coil.

As stated, the first coil arrived damaged, however, i must of had a piece of paper with the password on or something as I had a look at the usb stick as i was waiting for the second tesla coil to arrive. By the time the second coil arrived I had moved onto another project and the tesla coils was left in their boxes since 2018/2019, and where the password for the rar archive on the usb stick has gone, i have no clue.

I dont know how to attach zip/rar files in forums, as i would add it for you to see, i am hoping the picture i have tried to insert will also show. Did you get a usb stick with the same files which i am describing with your tesla coil?

All that I received was a block diagram showing how to connect it up. No usb stick or wiring diagrams. I have not played music through it and have no square wave music files.

As you can see from the below image (screenshot) this is just a few of the music files contained in the rar archive, as you can also see the file is listed at 0 bytes due to incorrect password. The sign wave music software is also in the rar archive.
