When you don't remember the password to log in.....
Hi all, I was a member for long time as goldquest to this very good forum, I have been overseas for quite some time, when I was back in my home land I wanted to know what was happening on the detecting world, so I tried to log in but I only remember my user name, no matter how many times I tried, the password was gone for ever. To be able to log in I had to re join again with a new name and a new pass word. It hurts me to see that being a new member, every time I log in I only have 5 posts, I can't send PM, practically I lost all my seniority. Is nobody fault, with age my memory is not what used to be. I am glad to be back, many things have changed since I left but I'm happy that this forum is still active, albeit with a new name.

G'day goldquest, welcome back.
Unfortunately, or should I say fortunately, I, nor any other member on here is privileged to another's password (less they've been given permission to use it by the rightful owner of that password), but try this out & let me know how you go.
When first logging on, type up "goldquest" (in user name) then go up to the top of the page instead of to the far right & click on the "Log in"
You should then see username & password come up & just bellow password (of which you've forgotten for goldquest), click on "forgot password"
This in turn will ask you to type in your old email as it was for goldquest. Follow the instructions after that. Keep in mind if your current email for patchfinder, is the same as the one used for goldquest, it might ask you to change it, for that email is currently being used for patchfinder. You might need to cancel one username, in order to keep the other, if the email used is the same for both.
Anyways, have a go at it & let me know how you go.
Cheers Kon.

Re: When you don't remember the password to log in.....
If a member does not delete their profile or old/past profile themselves, or asks that management do it for them, their old profile/email remains on this forum till it gets deleted. I could not see this, till you told me of your old user name. The only thing I don't have access to, is ones personal pm's or password, but by going into Memberlist (on top of the home page) & putting in ones username it will automatically tell me if that user still exists & when I get into their profile, gives me their details (username/email etc, etc as put down during the making of ones profile for registering/login on here). The rest is like I explained. By the way, only management has the right, to look into another members profile.
Cheers Kon.
Cheers Kon.
