Almost walked away.
G’day everyone.
Although it was considerably windy yesterday, it was nice and cool, so I headed out to Talbot. Thankfully the wind was blowing above the trees most of the time but the drizzle in the morning made it considerably annoying.
I tried 2 areas without success and about 11:30 I decided to take a drive while having lunch. I found some very nice looking spots and eventually parked.
10 metres from the car I got a good signal and proceeded to dig. It didn’t take long to locate the pellet but I ran the coil once more over the hole and there was still a signal. I could have left it as it was obviously another pellet but I dug anyway. Lo and behold I unearthed a 0.85 gram piece. Nice and chunky.
The rest of the day was spent digging more pellets and rubbish until I got another good signal, but rather broad. I kept digging but it didn’t get much louder. I had already dug up a tree root and a big hole containing lots of mineralisation so I was sceptical. I widened the hole and it had finally dislodged. Another nice piece of 0.6 gram. Almost fully encased in hardened clay.
So that made my day. 2 pieces I could quite easily have walked away from but didn’t. Hopefully some more cool weather coming our way soon.
Regards Axtyr.

Re: Almost walked away.
Well done Axtyr. All signals no matter how faint or loud, must be thoroughly investigated or there's a chance of leaving gold behind. No surrender, no retreat.
Cheers Kon.
