Yeah mate, but you would be wasting your time now. It's where I starting my beeping career in 2001.
The Historical Reserve, all 110 square kilometres of it to protect a few buildings and artifacts, covers all of the best prospecting ground, and is unfortunately off limits !

Yeah it’s piss poor imo Rick, all that good ground and they give you a little bit of land the size of your back yard and miles away from all the mines, mind you I did manage to find a few little pieces each time I have visited there

The place is definitely worth a visit, some of the mines that you can walk to are a bit of a hike,we picked an easy one but it was still a goat track up and down the hills and gullies, never got to see it all but what I did see I was impressive

Re: Arltunga goldfields
Well got out to arltunga today.
What a great place to visit. The people that got out there in those days are to put it short increadible or mad!
If any one is planning on going take the ross hwy route. We went the historical route via Winnecke it's a lot harder on vehicle and passengers but still worth it if not in a hurry. The rangers hut is also worth a visit.
