Your chosen maps are downloaded to your phone or tablet, therefore the size of the geology maps is what you need to know.

Tas, Vic - geology maps are about 500 MB

Other states - geology maps are 1-2 GB

The aero-magnetics state-wide images, resources maps (old mine workings, gold, metal & gem finds, quarries), and other overlays are less significant in size.

A note about the geology maps ..

The simple geology maps (Geoscience Australia 1:1 million surface geology) are ideal for the spoken geology.  As you drive, you will be told 'You are now over ..' 'Quaternary alluvium' or 'Permian sediments' or 'Silurian granite' or 'Proterozoic low grade metamorphics', etc. - simple descriptions that includes the age and a very broad description of the rock - this keeps you informed and educates you very quickly about the country you are driving through.  You will see how the characteristics of the country side change as the geology changes.

As a prospector, you will also need the detailed geology.  Depending on the state, this includes dykes, veins, marker beds and faults and you can tap on any of these, or the geology units to get much more detailed and accurate data than with the simple geology.

First price is for the app's core functionality
Second price is for the WA tenements and blocks maps

I don't want to write details in this article because I am continually extending the app, so whatever I write here would very quickly become out of date (but I have given a summary, above).  Within the app, you can view a complete list of functionalities for each subscription (with screenshots), so you can see exactly what you are getting at the time of purchase.  In addition to this, there is an app description in Google Play and the Apple Store, and on my web-site (link below) there is a User Guide, and Instructional Videos, which many of my customers have found very useful.

Note that there is also a 1-week free trial for the app.

Anyone reading this thread, please ignore any prices mentioned here in the forum - they may/will be out of date - and additional subscriptions may be created in the future, that do not exist at the time of this post.

Yes, the VIC gold maps show alluvial workings as blue circles.  The other workings are yellow circles.
When you tap on a circle you get a pop-up with brief information, but then tap on the pop-up and you get detailed information about the gold occurrence.
There are over 16,000 gold occurrences plotted in the VIC gold map.
