MERRY CHRISTMAS to all.  Have a safe and happy time.  We've only just had our power restored after several days without it ... we lost all our frozen food and the heat was unbearable (more so the humidity) for a while.  But our neighbors had trees crush their homes and several trees destroyed neighbor's vehicles this last week.  It's sad to see these homes still sporting their Christmas decorations with a tree embedded through the roof and front door (see picture above).  As always, someone else always has it worse.  The porch pirates have struck our streets with my wife chasing one parcel thief to his car before he sped off just as she reached the door.  She said he appeared to be well dressed and his car was modern. I hear that break-ins are more common around this time too so watch out with putting out any boxes from valuable items.

I asked for just one thing this year... it was a scented oil diffuser that I liked.  That's it for me.

Not everyone has close friends and family to spend this time with.  I'm told that this is one of the worst times of the year for people who suffer from depression or who miss loved ones who may have passed.  May those memories of those who aren't with us (for any reason) be good ones.  

If you are in the cities and you see someone homeless or on the streets at this time of year, you can be sure their situation is probably a difficult one.  Try to do something for them if you have the means.

On a lighter note, enjoy this period of traditional celebration. Drive safe and enjoy yourselves.
