Nice one Kon, isn't it great when nature joins all the tiddlers together, saves a lot of digging.

Re: Damn these tiddlers
Thank you for your kind comments guys. The small bit of colour was found buried about 11 inches down, trapped in solid hard packed clay, on the bottom side wall, of a well worked out narrow feeder, leading into the main gully. Found with the GPZ 7000 & 14x13 inch coil.
It does resemble some type of Koala now that you mentioned it Dave & Steve, Its been that long I almost forgot what swinging a coil felt like. 2 hours detecting time felt like 5.
Cheers Kon.

Thanks GemQ. If all goes well tomorrow, I'm hoping to get out there for another couple of hrs & see what else could be lurking at depth.

Good nugget Kon.
I can't see no koala, instead I see it's been shot with a shotgun and all the pellets have made it look that way.

Re: Damn these tiddlers
Thanks Uncle Bob. Yes, you could say its gone through the sandblaster.
If I go by the overall depth (the level of natural bank height to nugget depth) the nugget was sitting at approx 29 inches down from the top of original side bank level. It was the faintest of signals at 11 inches down, even with the GPZ 7000. What hope on earth does one have of reaching 29 inches down from where the old timers would have started digging, to where the nugget was found? The nuggets would have to be a Kg in size & above to be heard. I know we're constantly walking over $100s if not thousand dollar notes, oblivious to the fact that they're there, but content to say to oneself, "Yep, nothing left here, its all been cleaned out" "Cleaned out my ****. The only thing stopping us from reaching greater depths are the so called over-inflated expensive toys, we seek to find gold nuggets with.
Cheers Kon.

Re: Damn these tiddlers
Good onya Kon, that little squirt of WD 40 in your coffee everyday, has finally loosened you up to get you going again. Here's to many more. Harry
PS. All of you that can see Koalas in these nuggets, need to urgently see a shrink!

Re: Damn these tiddlers
Are you telling me you can't see the resemblance of a Koala in redfins nugget Harry? Fared income, how much more can a Koala bear?
Funny you should mention shrink, for I feel perfectly fine Harry Yep, nothing wrong with me.

Re: Damn these tiddlers
Thanks brockster2013. Knowing that there's so much more out there to be found, out of detector reach, is what hurts the most. Unfortunately, current hand held metal detecting technology, is what it is & I'v just got to stop whinging & put up with it, like the rest of us.
Cheers Kon.

Re: Damn these tiddlers
Well who'd ever guess, the narrow little feeder that produced the first tiddler the other day, happened to produce a baby sister, a little further up the clay gully. Well, at least I can't complain for the tiddlers are getting slightly (pardon the pun) fatter in size.
Take care out there. Cheers all, Kon.

Tilt your head sideways, close one eye, poke your tongue out.
Now can you see the koala bear?

Re: Damn these tiddlers
Thanks Jen. The locality seems to have held/hold potential. I'll be out again in 2/3 days time to give it another good going over. Who knows what else might be lurking nearby the first & second nugget find.
Cheers Kon.
