Hello Everyone, New to Prospecting looking for like-minded diggers SEQld
I am in the northern suburbs of Brisbane and would like to meet like-minded prospectors who would be interested in finding some areas to search or pan around brisbane.
I have my own 4 wheel drive and a camper but no equipment as yet.
As I am new to the gold hunting fever I have a lot to learn eg; not treading on some one else's ground, licence, claims, where to look and how, best types of detectors etc.
This is why I was hoping to find someone in my area that can advise me, go through the motions and such.
Hopefully I will get a response from this post and meet up with a fellow prospector.
Cheers

G'day Dave,
You may already have looked up QLD Goldfields in the Topics here and it is a good source of info. It's hard to find places/people local.
The closest place to Brisbane/SE Qld is Warwick and information on Fossicker's Licence and places to prospect can be found here - https://www.qld.gov.au/recreation/activities/fossicking
I joined the Townsville Metal Detecting Club to get some experience and they do some field trips to stations that allow detecting for a fee. http://www.townsvillemetaldetectingclub.com
One detecting area on GPA's is Clermont Qld. Jonathan Porter has a detecting store there and does lessons - http://outbackprospector.com.au as does Peter in Charters Towers https://www.goldcitydetecting.com
