this is not a yarn
Anyway, was out prospecting yesterday, had just came around the bottom of a gully and I'd spotted a stag (male deer) which also seen me and laid back down in the long grass. I thought that this was a bit strange, but i decided that this could be a good opportunity to grab a couple of pics for the missus so i disconnected from my detector and my back pack, and went into commando styles to try and get a bit closer. I slowly stood up at about 15 MTRS away from where i thought the stag was, but couldn't see a thing as the grass was so long, so down i went again trying to get into a position that'd make it possible to get a few pics. Then out of no where, as I stood up for the second time the stag charged at me. I was only about 5 MTRS away from it, the stag trying to stick me like a kebab! It was injured (HAD SOMETHING WRONG WITH ONE OF ITS LEGS) this all happened extremely quick, as the deer charged towards me i gave it a blow to the head with my trusty gold pick, stunning it, i did put the deer out of its misery as it would have died a slow and painful death from the injury it had already sustained. I didn't have a knife to put the deer down so i had to use the pick to give it a blow to the back of the neck as to stop its suffering.
anyway i just though that i would share this with the members of this forum as u can never be to careful whilst out prospecting strange things can and do happen.
cheers,
