Re: NUGGET FINDER & COILTEK 7000
I posted about aftermarket coils and some (company men) mentioned the coils might be chipped with encryption!? I don't know about that but if true, Coiltek will probably be the first to make them.

New Coils for Zed
That would be great. An elliptical 14" 18" and 24" would be on my wish list all open spoke.

Re: NUGGET FINDER & COILTEK 7000
Hey Guys,
I emailed Trevor at coiltek about this & he said that at this stage they would not be making any coils for the 7000 I also sent an email to Rohan at Nuggetfinder asking the same but got no reply
Cheers, Andy

Re: NUGGET FINDER & COILTEK 7000
HI Guys,
Don't go holding your breath waiting for after market coils. Minelab have patented the DOD coil and variants for use with the gpz detector, along with the installation of a chip within the coil to identify the coil as genuine. The only way these will be offered by one of the other manufacturers is under licence and I'm sure they won't be any cheaper than what Minelab is offering. Lets hope that 3 coils is all you will need!
Cheers Mick

Haven't the guys at geotech and others, been making DOD coils in the past? Must be something specific within the design.
I think from how others are making the GPZ 7000 sound, three coils will probably be all you need indeed.

Re: NUGGET FINDER & COILTEK 7000
They have, but from what I understand it has been patented for use with a detector that has a half sine voltage waveform during the stimulation period, eg a linear current ramp. So to make coils for the gpz, you would need permission unless of coarse you found a different design not covered in the patent(s), but then the chip in the coil still needs to be addressed.Shinegold wrote:Mechanic wrote:HI Guys,

Re: NUGGET FINDER & COILTEK 7000
Thanks Mechanic,
I honestly think Coiltek will probably be the first aftermarket manufacturer to make coils for this thing, they are close to Minelab. Surely Minelab won't pull the dirty and just shaft their close friends?

There's no friends in business! Unless there is something in it for Minelab (and it's hard to see that ATM) I doubt they will license it to anyShinegold wrote:Thanks Mechanic,
