What is wrong with the majority of you new 7000 owners?

One week in and you want to commit "harakiri" (Seppuku if you like) because you haven't found a monster.

Take a long, deep breath and relax. Even JP took a long time to find his first big nugget.

You've bought the best ever detector. Now learn how to use it and have some bloody patience!

Sorry, but I, like a lot of other members here, find it very frustrating that you think all you have to do is turn it on and it will drag you over a fortune

The heading should have been the 10 commandments.
1.Use a mates 1st before you spend the $$$$$.
2.Down load the manuel(not supplied) and read it and understand it.
3.Turn the machine on.
4.Start detecting.
5.Listen carefully.
6.lf signal is heard investigate.
7.Get mate to dig hole.
8.Recover target.
9.Recheck hole again for another target.
10.Get mate to refill hole and start again.

OMG WTF MINELAB "What the hell are you thinking" not including a Manual, someone spends $10700 & you can't supply a $20 Manual, I ran into 2 guy's at Western Creek who picked up their detectors on their way to the "Goldfield" a place the last time I checked had no facilities to View, download or print a Manual for ones self

One guy commented that he was handed the box by the dealer, who said here you go you will work it out (most likely knowing there was no manual in the BOX) don't ask who the dealer was, as it is not for me to comment on that, just be aware if you make a purchase!!!!!!!!!

Bought a new phone for the missus the other day. It didn't cost 10 grand but it wasn't cheap either. You guessed it, no manual, just a couple of pages telling how to put the battery in, turn phone on and charge the battery.
If you want to know how to use all of the phones capabilities you need the Snowy Mountains Electricity supply (ta plug tha charger into) a computor, printer and internet connection......Makes fer a pretty pricy phone all up.

Yeah good point Lee I hadn't thought of that scenario.
They give you a quick quide but that's usless if you want to work out the best ways to tame it in noisy ground or something. You need to know what each setting does.

How bleeding tight is that......Minelab shiny bums have got to be the worst penny pinchers around.
They could print a full manual in Vietnam or Batam for peanuts.....
GPZ 7000 Touted as a Professional miners tool.....where else have they cut costs???

Buy an SD2200d Attach an 18'' or 24" DD also a signal enhancer and hip stick, set it Ch 2 and Deep and research where big gold was found.
Especially here in Victoria this setup is not oversensitive so you will cut down on false digs by about ninety percent.The better series are 45 serial numbers but good can be found across the board.The better ones for some reason have whats called crashdown.When you turn the machine off listen for the time it takes for the machine to become quiet.Much like the way the old valve amplifiers did.The longer it takes the better the machine seem to be.Also the threshold must be stable This setup will find down to .5 of a gram at 5 inches and large gold to the 42 inch plus mark.It wont find .1s .2s .3 etc.The sd2200 V series are not like this model and are more sensitive.Sensitivity is what you don't want.The time taken on is it or isn't it hinders finding bigger and deep

Thanks for that info, hmm, got the detector (long crashdown) now I need a BIG DD & I have spots where BIG gold has been found at depth

Wow Dig that setup will punch deep for sure , would love to see a shoot out between the 7000 & it on deep targets over different types of ground  hey ?
