Candle Power
Been doing some research on handheld torches looking for something with longer run times and brighter light, must admit to being a little astounded as to the array and quality of torches avalible to the purchaser now!!!
For those that already know you can stop reading now.
LED and incandescent seem to be the best, the power of these is truly amazing.
I was looking for something that could be used for home use as well as camping.....to take when prospecting
Okay some links to Forums and manufacturers.....these are what i would deem as quality torches ? imo

re candle power
Hi, Im no expert on torches or candle power but thought this may help? before I hurt my back (at work) I used to do a lot of Night fishing for Mulloway, Sharks etc and I found that the Japanese made headlamps with LED bulbs were Excellent! They Cost a bit more than the regular ones but seem to throw out more light which helps with tying tricky knots and Leaders in the dark. Cant remember the brandname but will check and post if your interested?

Re: Candle Power
Thanks for the reply even2010 there is a large number of cheaper LED lights out there as in CREE MC-E, Akoray...most fitted with CREE LED's, I don't have a problem paying for a quality product.
Decided on Fenixs as they have a good reputation for performance and long life.
Whats your heaviest Croaker even?? 29 kegs for me

A mulla at 29kgs would put you in place for Gold in the West. Outstanding!! My best was 17kg from a Beach called Secret Mens Business which is near Geraldton. My biggest Shark wasnt measured, we took one look and cut the trace as we didnt have a winch lol. I still have a desire to fish the Famous Dogfence beach near Yalata....One day maybe. Cheers Evan
