G'day Polver.

The XP coils were designed to give a positive signal response,(high pitch signal) on both the normal mode(for smaller targets at shallower depths) and when in XP mode (the larger targets at greater depths). To determine which mode is which, bury a 30 gm lead ball to the point where you can just hear it(clearly) in either mode. The mode that gives you the higher signal response,or higher pitch sound is normally the Extra Performance Mode.

Cheers kon61.

If a small target gives a Low/High response and a large a High/Low then it is in XP mode (assuming if using a 4500 you have response set on Normal)

Hope this helps,

JP
