old mine is now mapped and recorded :)

hi all as you may all know I go down the old dangerous mines all over Vic and I map them and take images of them here's this weeks mine I visited I will but up more images when I can get back there as when I was taking images my camera battery went dead flat grrrr but ill keep you posted and add them when I get them

yes m8 safety is my most important thing to do/have when going into the old mines

the shaft in the bottum left corner was used to pump water out of that and into the dam when the dam dryed up

same mine just got some picks of the deeper levels of the mine


there shod be a windlass here but may of been taken away when the mine closed this is also the 50m water shaft after going 60ms down already

yeah i might still go detecting and exploreing the old mines but im slowly geting back into the gems cos i haven't been looking for the gems in 2 years and im starting to get the gem feaver back. gold will change people and offen break friends appart for ever

Thanks HRM for posting that and letting us experience what it's like down there in those mines. Me being a little bit "plumpish" and together with my somewhat paranoia of being wedged into a tight spot, I would probably never experience that first hand but watching your vid was probably as close to the experience that I will ever get, so thanks once again.

....and of course, always be careful down there, some of those old timbers sure looked like they has seen much better days.

      Sweet Farkin Jaysus!!! having long known that I was somewhat claustrophobic I recently at Xmas time while on a holiday in WA took a look into a cave system at Yallingup, BIG MISTAKE!!!! after an hour or so in the cave it was fair to say that I have established conclusively my claustrophobia is real! and as long as my ass points to the ground I shall NEVER! repeat that venture, how you bring yourself to go into that hell below I will never understand   , if it were me there would have been clear signs of retreat and severe staining of the walls and floor at about the 30 second mark, I can only admire your adventures from afar as I will never experience them first hand, take care and be safe.

I just have to say thanks for sharing your experience of going into those Spooky mines.
It's amazing what/how the old timers dug these tunnels, just Amazing!

I have been in a couple of mines about 27 years ago, weren't as bad as that one   
I wouldn't do it now, just a big chicken at my age, I also Suffer from claustrophobia..

You make sure that you take care when doing what you seem to LOVE to do
As it's a lonnngggg wayyyy down some of those deep shafts!!
