White's Goldmax 'Sierra' (8'' x 14'') DD Search Coil
Anyone used the White's Goldmax 'Sierra' (8'' x 14'') DD Search Coil with their GMT?
Is it worth the $$$ to have one in the kit or does the standard 6" x 10" do?
Heard a bit about the 4" x 6" shooter coil but nothing about the larger coil. Was thinking there may be some use in it where you may find small shallow bits to go back over the ground to see if anything deeper may have been missed?

G'day mbasko.
The Whites Gold Max 8x14 will go deeper than the standard 10x5 coil on your GMT,but the nugget size better be well over the 3 gram mark to do so.Same as a larger size concentric coil with the difference being, the larger the concentric on a VLF,the greater the mineralization it will pick up making them to noisy to run over medium to high mineralized ground.
Like on the Gold Bug 2,I'd go the smaller coil in preference to the larger.Reason being, greater sensitivity on the smaller targets, minimal loss of depth as compared to the 10x5,with far better discriminating capabilities than the 10x5 dd.
Cheers Kon.

Thanks for the feedback Kon. Much appreciated.
Had heard some good things about the smaller "shooter" coil & will be getting one to add to my small but growing kit of gear.
