Wow 1848 thats one of the oldest I've seen found in Australia. Would that be worth much?

hey mate, na i think the english coins a worth nothing which is a pitty... my boys can have it in there coin collection... been ages since i found a good coin..

great find stoppsy, i would be very happy with that one.....my last coin find was, ........one cent.....and it was deep in the hard stuff. not worth much, but still a find....cheers

G'day Stoppsy nice find just googled and those old English coins are still worth a bit. Yours looks in pretty good nick too. I reckon your boys will be happy with it though. Here's a link where I had a bit of a look at.

Good find. The only old coins I have found so far were a couple of 1 cents 1, 2 cent a 3pence and a 1936 penny that has so much cancer corosion on it that it is hard to read. Would be nice finding a good one.

Thanks guys. It was good to dig something like this. Has been along time since I found a coin.
I have not had the time to get out to see if I could catch up whith the guys. I hope I do tho just see how they are.

Amazing!
Stoppsy, I am also on the AMDRH forum and believe me to find a Crown is an incredible find. Make sure your children look after it. Soak in cloudy ammonia to clean up but I wouldn't try and clean it further. Again mate, that's an outstanding find. Well done.
