Hello from California...
Just want to say hello to you all. I just purchased a Minelab 4500 from a buddy of mine about 3 months ago. I have to say...Holy Smokies !! Should of done it years ago. Went out today and found three small pieces total weight 1.4 grams. Last Monday one at 1.7 grams, week before that three pieces total weight 15.4 grams!! And week before a nugget at 27.5 grams!! So I am very pleased. I live in California and own a small prospecting shop. I talk gold all week with my customers and it fuels my gold fever...so by the end of my work week I am jumping to get out and do some hunting myself. Tomorrow I am going out again... Great forum and great resource , thanks again. good day.

Cheers.
Mike.

Hello from California
Welcome r/h 2,
Be careful not to release too much info. on the forum.......you might start an exodus from Aust. to California........LOL
You certainly have the best of both worlds.....having the shop and being able to get out into the field.
Do you have far to travel to the gold?
I had a shop where I sold hand crafted jewellery(some nugget creations) and opals (I lived in Coober Pedy for a while and learned to cut and polish opal.......it was fascinating meeting people from all over the World with similar interests (my wife complained that I did too much talking......a mate said, "I was'nt in business to make money but to make friends".............!
Be lucky.

Mike,
Yes the 4500 has all ready proven itself of its capabilities. It will get better in time as I get more experience with it. My new camera will be in soon, will post a few pics soon.
Sandy,
Point well taken ! Haha I think you Aussies should worry about an exodus to Australian gold fields, with all those HUGE lunkers being found like the one recently in WA... : Yes I chat a lot with my customers...and friends mostly. They come around and visit, my wife always tells me to cut it short...lol and get some work done. ...but for me its part of the job...like your opal business. I am looking forward to learning and will be using this forum to ask questions and sharing stuff too.. Take care....R.H.
