NAPFA & the 2013 Goanna Muster.
Hi Everyone,
Seeing that I'm having Christmas in Newcastle this year, I decided to drop into Bob & Judy's place - Goanna Gold Detectors.
The subject of the 2013 muster came up & Bob's roster is clear for the first weekend in April - 1 week after Easter.
Bob has suggested that the NAPFA may want to hold their first AGM there & we can set up a similar setting as last time. This time there will be no VRA + 4WD demos unless you guys request it.
Do you want the PCYC to set up their hot food van again? This time at OUR location - last time the Ranger requested it be set up at the entertainment site to capture the general population who come to the dam on the weekends - this turned out to not be the best decision. We want the van at our campsite for us. Please let me know.
Once again, the addmission to the muster would be about $10 per head. (Maximum of $15 per head)
I believe this outing would be to elect the crew for the positions in NAPFA.
I'm open to other suggestions & if you want to let us know what you would like, please Email me at the old Email address: goannamuster@southernphone.com.au
On a slightly different note, does anyone know who found the oz plus nuggett at the last muster?
Have a Merry Christmas & please get back to us with your thoughts.
Gary, Bob & Judy.

Re the 2013 MUSTER
Dear John,Having been instrumental in recommending to the moderators that Steve Dangaard be delegated to represent the forum at Hill End earlier this year and then see the formation of NAPFA and see his and your appointment to the executive status,I have been keen to contribute in some small way to the promotion of good fellowship and comradere between the members. As former frontman of the blue grass group,SPINIFEX It would be my great pleasure to perform a short stint for the members at the appropiate time along side my Banjo playing nephew. We play a number of songs from the goldfields of old including the rousing Ballad..'The Cross of the South'. we also do a number of covers with a country easy listening theme and our services would be donated to the Association at no cost.
I would appreciate if you could consider this and reply to me at your earliest convenience. Yours under the Southern Stars...Rossco

Welcome aboard Rossco
Hi Rossco,
I can see no problem with you performing if you wish - this is a social outing as much as anything & everyone is welcome.
This will be the first muster where prospectors/fossickers & coin hunters in NSW, will have a voice.
Love to see you there - you too Kate.

2013 muster
Dear Kate, Yes its me..still singin since the heady days of the late eighties when we were performing all over, and our stuff got regular airing on FM 105 ..AT MIDNIGHT YOU MIGHT REMEMBER...HEHE. It will be a real blast to perform a short stint at the proposed Muster and share some good times with everyone.....John...I'm not aqqainted with the gold areas around Newcastle but for my part i think its important that we take our Muster to those areas where our presence can make the most strategic impact for our cause.for instance, Sofala would have visits from all types of prospectors, and not all of them have done the right thing in the past ,so there is a resultant animosty towards all of us and as a result landholders have closed their gates to us.
A muster there could go a long way in reversing this trend ,or at least open doors to NAPFA members. It may well be that the same is true for the Newcastle area in which case i'm OK with that. I do think that the site for the muster should be investigated, so as we target our financial clout and our policy objectives,,and our PUBLIC IMAGE, at those areas where such a concentration of members will have the most strategic impact...just my line of thought on the matter...cheers Rossco

Re: NAPFA & the 2013 Goanna Muster.
Hi Gary
We understand the Goanna Muster is the brain child of Bob & Judy and no doubt for the promotion of their store and products.
It also appears now to be the unofficial platform for the establishment of NAPFA.
NAPFA needs the support of the entire industry, retailers, manufacturers etc... As such will the muster be open for other dealers and retailers to throw their support towards NAPFA by way of percentage of sales or donation as a stall holder at the muster?
Congrats to you, Bob and Judy and all concerned for your hard work in getting this from an idea into where it is now.
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve,
You are correct - the original idea of the Goanna Muster was setup by Bob & Judy as an outdoor camp for their customers. I attended my first one in March this year & was invited back for the June one. These musters were held at the Stuart Town Common & were a strictly a social event.
When Bob made the statement that he would like to see a bigger setup, I took it upon myself to set up the Goanna Outdoor Muster & set proceedings into play. When I notified Bob & Judy as to what I had set up - they could get involved or I would have continued solo. This is NO WAY A NEGATIVE REFLECTION on Bob & Judy. I appreciated their help. But...
this was setup for ALL people of NSW & not just for Bob & Judy's business. I sincerely hope they do prosper a bit from the Goanna OUTDOOR Muster but it is open to ALL BUSINESSES as far as I'm concerned. I even dropped into Nuggetts From Down Under in Mudgee today to speak with Kim, unfortunately she is in WA at the moment.
I was in different services in my younger days & was fortunate enough to meet different people who could help out. Having a Daughter who is a qualified events organiser also helped. I am also glad that Robert was able to tell the people what they needed to hear & that the people at the muster listened.
I am extremely pleased that NAPFA got off the ground & I feel that I played a part in that. I do not hold any position in NAPFA - yes I was asked but I have a heap of major injuries & my current state of health is limiting my ventures into anything.
My Wife & Myself recently paid the $40 & await membership confirmation.
Once again, I would like to see ALL BUSINESSES get behind NAPFA & get it up & running along the lines of the PMAV.
I trust this has answered your query.
All the best wishes for 2013.

High
Enjoyed the Mookerra event but will be in transit to WA when the first 2013 muster takes place, if the van is built.Anyway we joined 2012 and are happy to renew or whatever. Hope you are aware of the new proposed conservation area around Tuena. Know you are not exec but people need to know when dues need to be paid.
