Newbee from Bucketty, NSW
Hi all,
I won't drive you up the wall with that ol' joke of Groucho Marx's about not being a member of any club that'd have me.... Doubtless you've all heard it before :-)
B'sides I wanna stay a member!
I live at Bucketty in NSW (inland of Wyong on the Central Coast.)
In 1990 I traded my laser printer for an old Minelab when I lived in Tassie but apart from Peacock Ore from down Queenstown way I've never managed a peep from it - especially from the yella stuff. Was able to pan some from every part of the Iris River I tried out, tho. From 'wire' up the top near Cradle Mountain all the way down to coast where the ultrafine dust was falling out. No luck up here on the mainland yet.
I hope to update to a modern GPX when my house sells and I go traipsing the Wallaby.
Would love to hear from any members interested in doing trail-alongs, etc.
Also, I enjoy general fossicking - gemstones and old wares, etc.
Cheers and I look forward to hearing from anybody about their adventures.

Welcome bushgrrl. You will find a lot of like minded people on this forum. Good luck with your plans. I travel around in a caravan after selling my home. So far no regrets - but still not enough time for detecting!

Re: Newbee from Bucketty, NSW
Hi bushgrrl,
I just joined the forum myself. I'm in your neighbourhood ... down in old Sydney town.
Like you I'm also returning to the hobby, hopefully on a full-time basis, travelling Oz.
I'm currently looking around NSW but hope to go for a trip back to Victoria in the new year.
Keep us posted on your wallaby trail plans, might be able to meet up for a trail-along, as you put it.
Hope you find some gold in your travels, along with plenty of new friends.
cheers,
DetectorDave
