gold, platinum, Walhalla? Empty gold, platinum, Walhalla?

Post  XIV Sat Oct 20, 2012 10:31 am

first Question on here?!
i do a lot of fishing at Walhalla and have got the bug for gold. Dew to fish not biting (and needed to do something till they came back on the bite)
now i seem to spend most of my time prospecting and not fishing!
i have found gold and think i have found platinum but cant be shore
have also found Quartz with gold in it
*how do i tell if it is platinum? (as it stays in the pan with the gold)
*which is the best way to remove the gold from the Quartz?
and any new placers in the area worth looking around for gold....

Thx any advice would be appreciated

G,Day xiv, depending on where you are looking, mercury coated bits of gold are in the majority compared to the native yellow around Walhalla these days. However Platinum was associated with the Copper and Gold at Coopers Creek.
