Newbie in Pennsylvania
A friend and I just got into panning and went out for the first time today. Creek is in a valley about 50 meters wide, steep mountains on both sides, lots of exposed rock formations. Found a lot if sandstone and quartz in the creek. I also panned out and old fishing lure buried in the creek near the bank. This place is very remote and before we waste any more of our time, does anyone know if there is gold in Pennsylvania or are we chasing our tails?

Re: Newbie in Pennsylvania
Thanks guys! According to some of that info, im within 20 miles of 2 places where gold was already found. Also been researching old fault lines and rock formations in the Appalachians. Cut up a couple small lead fishing sinkers for panning practice. Been batting 1000 on that!
