4500 screen

the other day when i turned the 4500 on all the letters on screen were back to front,turned it off and back on and it was back to normal ,anybody had the same thing happen.

Yes I had it happen twice in one day when I switched the 4500 on about six months ago, but it has not happened since.
So i did not worry about it.

Gday Im experiencing a problem with my 4500. When i turn it on Ive got no Menu on the screen?? Its just blank! But i still managed to find 7 bits with it today. Has anyone had a similiar problem??? If it doesnt sort itself out I will have to send it away to be fixed

Bugger, no I've not had that problem and not heard of it, sometimes the screens used to play up on the 4000's.

If it's still under warranty then don't fiddle with it as this may well void the warranty, just send it in for a repair

Yep its only 3mths old so i'll have to send it back for repair if the Problem persists, but not until Ive cleaned out my patch I wont be tho

Send it back asap, they are checking out new units that are returned for repair recently.
I bought mine in March, sent it to ML, last Monday, had it back Wednesday.

Its a bit hard to do straight away because im many miles from anywhere with a postoffice, but will ring Nenad and organise it asap

Yes im having similiar problems atm. Sometimes nothing on the screen at all or if it comes up normal it wont let me change anything. The Audios ok and Im still finding Gold but i'll be sending it off to Minelab when Im finished here

A few of us who detect together have seen the same problem (mainly the reverse wording or upside down on a number of machines, but only when they first came out. Think it was simply related to the pressure on the screen and involved tightening/loosening screws...but let Minelab sought it out.

I sent mine back recently was only new also, had ground balancing issue- fixed didn't work- it was staying in tracking mode.
Was painful digging targets and having to ground balance all the time.

As i said to him, being a newbie, i probably wouldnt have worked it out otherwise, except fot the beeping button in fixed mode. Apparently the button should only beep in tracking mode.

purchassed my 4500 in may went over to Kalgoorlie on june10 machine screen disappeared completely on the 2nd day detecting. Posted it back to Minelab on a monday and got it back fixed by the next monday. I cannot complain about the service they give Fantastic. Yes there will be someone who says the fault should not occur but everything new relies on parts from all over the world somthing is bound to go wrong.

Yes I've heard of those Dislexic models. They are junk detectors. You may have noticed that they find more junk than gold.
