Avoca Victoria Empty Avoca area

G"day Tim. You could probably try the homebush area as I have had a bit of luck there both on the diggings and also on the surrounding hills. I was lucky enough to find an 1/2 gold sovereign recently in a fairly thrashed area. I hope this helps and lots of luck. Steve

To get you started about 1klm from Avoca on the Pyrenees Hwy towards Maryborough there is a lane called 'SIMS LANE' (left if u r coming from Avoca or right if u r coming from Maryborough) turn into Sims Lane and about 100 metres off to the left is 'Boundary Track" turn there and follow that past the crossing of 'Big Hill Track' to u come to some diggings (Homebush Lead) try anywhere around those diggngs on the high side now be warned there is alot of rubbish around these diggings but I have done ok around the slopes with gram size nuggets. (Map 8 on Tully's Majorca/Homebush Maps).

You should be able to get your sedan in there if u take it easy. Now u should be starting to research your own areas as has been pointed out to you on this thread.

Cheers and let us know how u went.

One more thing ... if u using a 3500 u may be better off with a DD coil as depth here is not a problem but as I said it is very noisy with a mono and lots of junk....
