Put the scrub tyres on and went bush bashing years ago  and low and behold we came upon and abandoned mine in the middle of nowhere.
We had a quick swing in vicinity of the shaft without any luck but had to skedaddle in a hurry cause the sun was dropping and the bush was thick and without any tracks.
Didn't have mobile or GPS with me and thought at the time, would be able to return with eyes closed.
Wrong! clown
The photos are of what we named the "Truckside Mine and is now the "Lost Mine"
Several attempts to relocate it have failed.
We do know now this area has gone "black."
We have a plan for next year. Wink study

Great photos. I have a story of when I was about 8 years old. Me and 4 mates went for a bush picnic with our mums. Us boys went for a walk and quickly became lost. We were walking along an old creek no water at the time and after awhile we came across a large abandoned camp that had been left many many years ago. Im talking about early gold rush times. Some old wooden structures. Small mines and dig ins. Ive tried to find the location but to no avail. We were gone most of the day and eventually after walking for hours and hours, an old farmer came across us and took us back to our mother's , who were about to call for a rescue party. Ha Ha Using a detector around that area all the gold and coins etc you would have found. Well that for another day. Im 59 now so this was 50 years ago.

In 1980 the wife and i had business in port hedland and were invited over to Corrun downs staion east of marble bar, we took a wrong turn and sort of got lost we ended up at old mine site where there wa a old steam engine on the side of the hill and also a large rusted sothern cross diesel gen set we stopped for a drink and had a walk aroung and found a couple of small nuggets, which now a days we would call sunbakers , we still have them and they were both 2 and 3 grams a piece never had any inclanation to look for anything etc forgot about it, we have since got the detcting bug after retiring 5 years ago and have gone back to look fot the area and buggered if we can find it, i am sure its around the beatons creek area on there lease near the klondike mine but never mind we always the dragon and myself discuss it on our annual trip to the pilbarra during the start of winter, might try again the coming year Shocked
