The nugget has been found and returned to it's 83 year old owner. That's all i know at this moment. cheers Pete. A $50,000 gold nugget has been found after being lost on a Wheatbelt highway.

The owners of the nugget put a desperate call out to people on the Great Northern Highway in Wubin, 270km from Perth, after losing it from a moving vehicle.

Police in nearby Dalwallinu asked people to keep an eye out for the pricey possession this week and said a reward was being offered for its return.

Today, police announced the nugget had been found and returned to its elderly owner.

“The Nugget has been found! Big thanks to the wider community, the 83 yr old owner and his wife are very, very grateful, relieved and very happy,” police said on Twitter this morning.

Still no weight?

Maybe 15 to 19 oz. Must have been a nice one.

The old fella found the nugget in his own glove box. He was sure he had left it on the boot when he drove off.
I,m sure we have all had a moment like that and as we grey's are getting on may have a few more

The man that lost and found the nugget was named Bell, people by the name of Bell used to run the general store in Cue WA
many years ago. Perhaps the nugget came from that area some time in the past.
