Hi All, Been several yrs since posting. Desperate to get out of the house and want to prospect some crown land in the GT.  Im finished my rehab from back surgery and am keen to see if I can snag some colour. My Question is. Can I free camp on Crown land or is it still banned? I heard on ABC radio on Thursday that prospecting was OK. I rang Laancoorie but unfortunately they are still closed.

Oh and btw I have an 18" Coiltek elite for sale (too heavy with my back)

As far as I know, only day outings are allowed in the state of Victoria, but no overnight camping as yet.

I’m pretty sure that camping is still banned and your only allowed to do day trips prospecting.

there are signs up in the bush around beaufort with no camping on them ,but dont know of any other areas
