Wow - great start to the year Kon. Congrats. Hopefully a few more to come.
Yours is the 2nd post I've read about sizable nuggets found this year that might have been found earlier if people dug more of the "I'm probably junk" sounds.

Just when I thought it was all over, netted this 19gm bit of gold, in heavily worked/thrashed ground a couple of days ago & only now after an ultrasonic bath, posted it up. Considering it gave a good clear signal, & was only a measured 11 inches down, embedded in clay in amongst slate, I cannot understand how anyone could have missed it.
Cheers Kon.
Fabulous piece Kon, may there be more, and you know what I mean.
cheers dave

You & I both Jen. Thank you for your kind feedback people. Looking forward to my next day out.
All golds good gold Bill no matter what the size. The pieces of gold that I'v found recently seem to come as a one off & then nothing more for the rest of the arvo. Size is just luck.
Cheers Kon.

Re: Oi, the tiddlers are growing in size
The only thing reamed Harry, are the so called toy detectors we have in use to find gold today. I know there's gold left over to find, in just about all past gold bearing locality I'v ever found gold in. Knowing that the current tools we use to detect gold with, are not capable of reaching many a depth layer of where gold sits within our highly mineralized soils, is what probably hurts all us detectorists the most. Cheers & thanks Harry.

Beautiful looking nugget to start the year off Kon, and a nice size too. Well done. I got my first a couple of weeks ago, a cute little 1.1 gramma

Awesome nuggets Kon,
Great to see you slaying the gold better than ever.

Thanks Hoffs Gold. Now that some cooler weather is on the horizon, I'll be spending a bit more ground time with the GPZ 7000, coupled to the new aftermarket 18 inch round "X-Coil", in order to see what else might be lurking deeper down.
Cheers Kon.

Re: Oi, the tiddlers are growing in size
I'm also hanging out for the cooler weather.
This 18" x-coil you speak of?
I've been under a rock with my SDC for too long obviously.
Who makes them Kon?
I'm heading down to Vic for 10 days in June to steal some of your gold, so thinking of getting another Zed before I head down.
Cheers Hoff.
