Belated WA 2017 finds

Hi all, I have been away from the net most of the time lately. Just putting up some images of my best pieces from 9 weeks detecting in WA up till mid august. Two of us shared about 23 ounces for the trip. The crystalline/folded up leafy piece is nice. The flatty was 70 something grams found with the 19 dog at 2feet+....now chopped up and in some of Mr Becks wedding bands no doubt. Only four months until its time to do it all again.  Cheers Tributer

Our best four were a 16 and a 38 in one hole, another 38 (!) and a 107, all found with GPX's and 14x9's  ( ! again).

So what's with the triangular indentations in the nugg in pic 3?? Was that one resting on a couple of diamond crystals?

Well done Tributer. It is nice to see that WA is still producing some nice gold.

I think you will find they are not "indentations" but raised triangles. I have seen these nuggets. Very nice indeed, and the triangles could have been formed by an inverted crystal cavity in the surface of the host rock it was formed against.

Maybe the gold has diamonds encased inside.
