This story reminded me of a news report I heard many years ago in Melbourne, some kids were playing somewhere along the banks of the Yarra river and found a complete but rusted up hand grenade in the mud, they thought that because it looked interesting that their mum might like to have it to make a salt shaker or something out of it and so they decided to take it home for her cyclops , along the way they handballed it to each other and were kicking it along the road, apparently mum was out front and saw them coming up the road towards home and could see that they were kicking and throwing something, when they got closer she went to look at what they were doing and saw to her horror that it was a complete and intact hand grenade pale : , luckily for the kids it was very rusted up and the handle and pin were still firmly rusted into place, but it was still live, of course she freaked out affraid and leaving it laying on the road she bolted home with the kids and called the bomb squad who came and disposed of it.
