Hi all.

I headed out to Ballarat yesterday and ended up out at Linton. I had a lot of trouble using the old map I had, it looks like a lot of the old goldfields out Smythesdale way have been turned into residential areas.

Anyway, first stop was Linton and I managed to get my car down this track until I came across a muddy area. I detected around here for a while for nothing then on my way out noticed some old diggings so detected them for the next hour and picked up a monster of 0.06 gram which I named the Linton Lint.

I then headed off in all directions trying to locate Browns Scarsdale Road. I eventually found it and found a reasonable place to detect. It appears I was beaten here by Woody (see General Discussion) and didn't find anything.

Good luck out there as it starts to heat up.

Regards Axtyr.

Now you're getting a bit personal there JW. My wife gets to see my big slugs, but I haven't had any for awhile. Just a couple between 4 and 5 grams this year and they have been on display.

The little piece was just on the surface, I don't think I had to put the pick in. As I said I have picked up a couple this year at 0.026 gram and they were both on the surface.

Regards Axtyr.
