Was a considerable distance from the camera, (P1000) possibly 20+ km

Is it any wonder that I am not keen on flying.

Only just avoided a collision:
This DH missed me by about a foot at a closing speed of 150kph.
I had two wheels in the dirt.

From here to the third shot was a tad over 1 second

scary stuff m8,maybe a visit to the local fuzz so they can give that knob a courtesy call ?

I have done that in the past but the police do not seem to be interested unless there were injuries.
If I had not washed off 10 or 12 kph in the last 1 second before he went past  the outcome may have been a tad different.

Shite happens fast on the road when something goes wrong.
On looking at the crash cam video there is just 1.5 seconds  from when that DHs car was straight in front of me in my lane till when he went past bridging the centre lane lines.

Wow! when I first looked at the photo I thought it was a view out of the rear window.

Just email the pics to your local station, he may have had several complaints against his name already.
It all adds up, they'll soon find a reason to get him off the road b4 he kills someone

Last night's super moon and jagged a bird.

Interesting UV flash from the Sun the other day.
You have to wonder at the conditions necessary to create such laser beam straight emissions and those ladder like emissions.

Some wacker put a tin roof on this thing.


Hmmm, Just one bolt holding it on.


Bugga! Just can't quite reach it.


There's gotta be an easier way of getting a feed Aye!!

We have a front row seat watching these characters every morning and if we kept the feeders full they would be here all day. They sit on the old Hills Hoist when we hang out the washing and are happy to go for a ride if we give it a bit of a spin.

Lunar Eclipse 26/05/21

Thought it was supposed to be a total eclipse but it was not.

Some shots of the sun taken just a few seconds apart this afternoon at approx 1300.
Shows some fast explosive activity in the sun spot.

Same spot today 05/07/21.
Hand Held shot with the P1000

This spot is as I said very active and in the past 3 days it has exploded 3 large CME's (Cosmic Mass Ejections) into space and even though it is now on the far side of the sun some of the radiation has  managed to wrap around the sun   and blanket the earth with high energy particles.

This spot will be facing earth in a few days and will be interesting to see if it is still super active and capable of causing communication and power transmission problems here on our rock......OMG! OMG! The sun is about to go  Nova....Oh well we won't have ta worry about the covid 19 any more aye.      
Just kidding just kidding G type stars don't go nova.

This is the latest CME to date.

blame it on the bossa nova
very cool image, hopefully some coloured lights on the horizon?
Radiation burst might give my detector a boost and some extra depth?

I think these bludgers have got TFR.
I notice that they must have gyro stabilised noggins coz their head  is always verticlal to the horizon no matter what angle their body is at.

A frosty morning and Harry & Meghan are back.
Have not seen them for over a year.

Some fairly largish sun spots at the moment.
These are causing some great Northern light displays.

Looks like a new spot cycle has commenced with spots appearing in the solar south & north latitudes.
This should result in a lowering of radiation levels in the upper atmosphere. Air travellers should be happy.



A bit later:
Popping up all over the place now.

These bludgers are somewhere between 13,000 and 23,000 miles in diam at the moment. Fairly average size  but some have spewed out a bit of CME

Our pal the Butcher Bird is back after a 12 month lay off. Is nesting and accepts meat from my hand now. His first attempt was a bit hit and miss and he got a bit of my finger but since then he rolls his head to the side before contact. Fast learner.  
    This bird will fly right across the yard to take food from my hand without stopping to say hello. he then goes to a close by potted tree and jams the food in the fork of a branch/twig and happily munches away at it.
The other day he clamped on to the house bricks near the family room door and rubber necked around the window/door frame so he could see inside and checked out to see if we were home. If he could have spoke I reckon he would have said 'Where,s my food you turkeys" ? Has us fully trained now.





So where's my food then.

I saw one of those once [mock sun] ,it had be truly baffled.
