Best for slightly less

After being a Minelab freak for 20 plus years and stopping for 15 years, I am getting back into it.
I went over to Cue West Aust, and tried a friends GPX 5000 with a Sadie coil.
On getting home and reading up on some information I came to the following conclusion.
A Minelab GPX 5000 at $5,500 will get a match head size slug at maybe,  2 inches.
A Fisher Gold Bug Pro DP at $1,100 will get a match head size slug at,     1 and 3/4 inches.
For me 6mm in 50mm, was a worth while gamble.

OK, before somebody asks, I bought the cheap old Fisher.

The main difference is that the GPX5000 will get that match head size piece on any ground, will the Gold Bug Pro work just as well on any ground? I think not.

Probably not Dave, but at my age it is all about fun an entertainment and my pension dictates that $1100 fits the budget best.
