Hello,

had a play with a pan a few years back and found a few little bit. Then read a lot about getting nuggets with detectors so decided to get a cheap gold bug this time last year. Found enough gold now to payed for it and upgrade to cheap Minelab so got a GP Extreme.

It turned up today and heading out tomorrow. Hope i missed some with the goldbug so i have something to find.

This was what i had at the 4 month mark with the gold bug. The biggest bit it 8.4g

Welcome jtb......now you can get really serious !

ps Don't sell the Goldbug.....they are deadly on small bits......I always advise newchums to get one for their Mrs.........they are as light as a feather(and cheap).

as for the cut hand. That's the good bit. Anyone else has problems with metal plates in them that sets the detector off? bit of a pain when trying to find the target.

Thats one hell of a bad shaving nick! What model gold bug have you got I have the gold bug 2. Its found me literally close to a thousand tiny nuggets. Over the years. I mainly use it going over old diggings, I use the 6inch coil and some pieces are so tiny they take about 20 to make 0.1grams. I have a Whites GMT and it wont find gold as tiny plus it is affected by powerlines, the Gold bug is not. I have also got a Minelab gp3500 its found me some nice gold but I still like my Gold Bug Best. good hunting cheers Neddy
