Beautiful Dave. Its amazing sometimes, things that just look ok in the their natural state, that when they are cut, look so great. A lovely present to You and Veronica.

Thats a very nice rock Dave.
Now if you find any more, check it carefully for any colour inclusion (not an oxided fault). It could be a slight blue, orange or green/yellow blur.
It is quite common in quartz, the usual thing is to cut it out during the preform.
For any stone like that, if the slight colour spot is included and positioned at the culet (point) when cut, the colour will diffuse right through the stone for a brilliant effect.

Again a nicely cut stone, can't believe quartz can look so good.

Seeing all of this I can understand why gemstoneing has such a large following. The jemstone and jewellery show which appears once a year at Bathurst is enormous.

Rarely have seen so many displays, quite a bit of gold nugget selling as well.

A bit of local quartz crystal we use as a door stop.
About 2kg., bit oversize for my facetting machine!
