Which coil N>F or Coiltek for 2100V2
Giday all, I,m going to purchase a new mono for my 2100 v2. any opinions on these two from experience ? the new nugget finder advantage eliptical and the 14x9 goldstalker ! apparently the goldstalker is supposed to run quiet on the late machines, I have an early 11 ' coiltek mono no 46 but I wouldn,t say its all that quiet so i,m tending to go Nugget finder but would appreciate some feedback ,,cheers all Jed

hi Jed, this one is personal preference for sure, but i am definately a NF man, find them really good and sensitive, when uu are down to pinching the dirt to see what the target is, i reckon thats pretty good for an 18inch round mono, NF of course, regards, gary

Re: Which coil N>F or Coiltek for 2100V2
Jed,
I have run both and as stated it can be a personal thing. I ran a stalker 14X9 on my extreme and could not believe how stable and sensitive it was picking up bits down to less than .1g (scales only go .1g) and up to 16.2g at 14 inches.
I upgraded to a 4500 Nov last year and ran it on that as well. Same as the extreme, very stable and sensitive. My "small" coil is a 12X7 NF mono and it is pretty good as well. Found a flattish 3g piece at 12 inches with that. It also gets sub .1g bits as well.
Chris.

Hey Mungrass..
What coil did u go with??? for that machine and around the goldfields in Vict. I reckon u cant go pass a N/F 18inch DD. Thats my thoughts anyway..

I think you'll find that choosing from the selection of coils available and weighing up the many different opinions that people have on the subject will make it a difficult chore.
My thoughts: Your SD will generally give you better results with a Double-D rather than a Monoloop. Monoloops coils have been traditionally noisier coils on SDs than the DD coils. The Nugget Finder coils have become very popular these days for use in Western Australia and the most recent editions (the 'Advantage' series) from Nugget Finder are superior to all the earlier coil types they've produced. They're less brittle, more water resistant, UV resistant and more sensitive to targets. But at the moment, they're mostly monoloops.
Coiltek offer a great range of very successful coils. Their Goldstalker coils have been a very popular choice in Victoria and this new series was designed for use with the GPX detectors but work very nicely with other models like the SD and GP range.
Note that Coiltek should be releasing some new DD coils due shortly for the Goldstalker range.

coils
Hi , Ive got a ct 16'' round and i fitted a complete skid plate to it to stop grass etc coming up through,, anyone thinking of doing the same,, when you scrape a rock or stick it really echos up through the coil, doesnt affect the performance in any way, just give you another distraction whilst listening for targets, (doesnt affect using headphones, i use the speaker setup) best i can describe it as is fitting a drum skin to the coil,

Re: Which coil N>F or Coiltek for 2100V2
thanks for all the input guys, very interesting and some great points, spoke to Trevor at coiltek by email and got some info that made me think as well, spoke to David at Trackline and got his opinion too . The end result being I bought a coiltek mini ufo on ebay in excellent order fo $110 , bargin hey ! and I was going to buy a nugget finder elipitical, but not the new model but ended up selling the 2100 on ebay which answers your question Buck ol son and have not been able to get or compare any results. So now we scratch the head about a new detector. Hey Buck ask Hassa for a picture of his new piece in the shape of a "C" just like Jupmans mums "J" he can hang it round his neck and we will know what it means.
