the bush is a good medicine
hey guys, i know i have talked about this a bit but, a friend off mine has slipped into depression but lucky he stoppped and thought about what he was going to do. he's gone to the doc's and they have put him into hossy....now before this had happen he had been to the docs as he knew there wasn't something right, so they had told him just to go for a walk up into the bush and just tune out from eveything until they had confered what was wrong. he had done this and he love it he said it was so relaxing. but it wasn't enough for him but it was a start.....
now this is one reason i think detecting is good for you.
it's keeping you active
great exercise
you tune out from the things that stress you
it's a good time to catch up with friends for a weekend or so
so the bush is a good medicine for you and gold is a bonus, so just take the beauty off nature in while detecting it's a stress releaser..
cheers

Gday stoppsy
I think most people would have to agree that the bush has a calming effect and that is one of the very reasons we get drawn back to it, I know for me being in the bush and detecting kept me sane and alive during one of the worst periods of my life.
A couple of weeks at home soon puts me in the mood to head bush, with all the hussle and bussle of town life its hard not to yearn for the peace and quiet and the relaxed easy going lifestyle, I think this is the way life was meant to be for us, not the way we have made it.

re bush is good medicine
spot on Stoppsy heading bush has always been a great form of stress relief as is swinging a detector, when that machine goes on all troubles are forgotten. I reckon that mate of yours is lucky to have a mate like you, when your down knowing that people care is a huge thing to have in your corner. Theres a lot of help out there these days starting with beyond blue, depression is b**tard of an illness but its just an illness like any other and people can and do beat it. The old saying that "every man needs a hobby" is truer today than ever before and detecting in the bush is the pick of them. Good luck to you Stoppsy and your mate. Hamr

Absolutely stoppsy..
After a weeks work on the coal face...a Saturday, Sunday or RDO swing in the bush with the ubiquitous 4500 eases my slightly troubled soul...
Then home to the wife and child...bliss

So right Stoppsy, being in the bush is amazing. One of my mates likes to prospect around camp, but i'm a gypsy and love nothing more than a really long walk with the detector, hoping to find that elusive patch. cheers Pete

"And the bush hath friends to meet him, and their kindly faces greet him
In the murmeur of the breezes and the river on its bars,
And he sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended,
And at night the wonderous glory of the everlasting stars."
