SDC Settings Theory?
G'day guys n gals,
Just wondering if anyone has tried running on Sensitivity 5 and the threshold all the way off on their SDC2300? And had any success with these settings?
Cheers...Dave

Re ( Sensitivity 5 )
Heard 2nd hand of a guy in WA last year finding a lot of gold with 5, Don't know about the sensitivity setting.

Re: SDC Settings Theory?
Thanks for your input fellas..I normally run on 3,and found that it gets too chattery to hear the faint signals if i run it any higher,
but thought by running silent on 5 the signals would definitely bang out?
Will be sure to give your advice a go next time i'm out

Re: SDC Settings Theory?
I've found that running in 5 makes both the target and otner noise louder and I have more difficulty spotting the difference, so I run on 3 mostly. I use 5 if I have a small patch about the size of a table, it seems to work then as I go over the patch more thoroughly thereby able to really sort it all out. If things are really quite I might run in 4 and if EMI is so bad I am having trouble in 3 then I will run it 2. I do have Bosse noise canceling headphones which amplify the sound a bit so this works for me. I can see that if I didn't have them I would run more often in 4 just so I could hear something. Downside of these headphones is wind noise, I use socks or some such on them to cut the wind. This works well.
I always run the threshhold at a level that is quiet but fully stable, for me that seems to be about 3 clicks or so from the lowest setting.
