Still picking up with the GP3500.
I won't be getting a new detector, firstly...There's nothing wrong with my 3500. Secondly it would spoil my fun.
I have owned and operated a 4000 and a 5000, both very good machines. The extra digital timings will detect very fine gold that the 3500 might miss (depends on the operator and the coil used in my view).
I found the gold in the photo in a 5 day trip in October last year before it got too hot (no fine gold here). I'll be out again next month.

Re: Still picking up with the GP3500.
Nothing wrong with the use of a GP3500 butch, especially in the hands of an experienced operator. It's not so much in technology we lack now, but more so in finding ground that has seen very little in way of detecting.
As for the size/type/shape of coil to be used over any given area, fitness for purpose will always be a wise choice, but like the changing of in-ground mineralization variables, a change in coil size/type & going over sections of ground that has produced colour, certainly covers more possibilities/avenues.
Nice looking gold, well done.
ps, This topic will soon be moved to the "Members Finds" section.
