RE: STATE OF VICTORIA AND E Ls

Having an idea I'd like to revisit the gold fields down south my computer tells me that E Ls cover the majority of Vic and fossicking rules state one has to get permission from the relevant E L holder before fossicking or, if you like , prospecting by anyone else can occur.. Would someone enlighten me as to the proceedures and results of adhering to the rules.. Or is there a vast army of detectors standing around doing nothing...

Yes, you can detect on an E.L. in Victoria if you have a Miners Right. You cannot detect on a Mining License unless you have the Mining License holder's permission.

Many thanks goldnomad ,, it's strange that that wasn't included in the blurbs,, or perhaps I missed it.. For a while I thought my preparations for the sojourn would be to no account..
Another thought,, would using a small sluice to treat fines from panning be classed as mining??? Just a thought prompting a query. I'd hate to travel nearly 2 thousand KMs and then be booted off or fined... Many thanks again... dundiggin
