That's what we call innovation Dave, you'll appreciate that when you're out and about.
Re: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
To go with that great looking BBQ is my coopers Australian ale home brew ,triple hopped with cascade hops,Chinook hops & dry hopped with US citric hops.
Next will be a wheat beer with some lemon hops.
This beats my previous run of stock standard brews by a country mile.
If ya bored ,got plenty of bottles [be it stubbies which I use],go for it ,lots of fun
cheers morebeer

Re: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Looks simple which is what you need for a caravan, especially in terms of weight, and yet very effective... well done Dave.

Moredeep, Figs are a delicious fruit and only wish they weren't so expensive in the stores.
Would probably be doing a midnight raid if living next to you.

Re: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
lucky you moredeep, we had a very disappointing fig harvest this year in the New England high country.
Probably much to do with the drought, as they did not mature to a decent size and were very dry, not luscious and juicy like yours.
Ended up being happy to allow the Currawong's and Rainbow Lorikeet's feast on them.
There's always next year
They make a great dessert with the bottom opened up, poached in port then served with vanilla infused whipped cream

Re (Ended up being happy to allow the Currawong's and Rainbow Lorikeet's feast on them)
But they will be there next year with their offspring... and the following year.
Our Nectarine Tree with 1000+ fruit on it, we did not eat one, birds pecked/eat every one, while they were still hard/yet to ripe ( Its a big tree would need a Crane to net it.)
But we love watching the birds eat the fruit, so not all lost

Re: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
That's a great recipe boobook,I'll give it a go
Fig trees are a lime loving tree,I think they originated from Adriatic [lime] coastal area's
A good feed/sprinkle of garden lime just after winter tends to give a better crop.
And yes the birds do love a good feed.
We have fairly big trees that are netted, star picket either side of tree with poly pipe bent over then netted is a fairly easy solution.
The occasional bird gets caught in the net but as we are home every day they are released quickly.

Re: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Enough information Michael, no doubt delicious dessert that I'll keep in the memory bank for when we win lotto and buy some figs......
Recall childhood when living on the farm, a neighbour had several huge mulberry & fig trees, it wasn't the birds that pecked at his fruit, it was we kids.
Mum would ask when we got home, "Have you been raiding Joes fruit again?" "Not us, Mum," clothes covered in mulberry stains.

Re: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Much the same here Pete,we as kids new every fruit tree in the neighbor hood.
I think the thrill was nicking a few without being caught .
Luckily mast kids grow out of it,sadly some go into adult hood with the same attitude

Re: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
moredeep, I have discovered a home brew kit from Big W called Brigalow. They offer a New or Munich lager both of which are excellent, and if you mix their New and Coopers draught it produces a beer very close to Carlton Draught. I used to bottle but now produce my home brew in 50 liter kegs. The end product is far better and much less time consuming.
You only live about twenty minutes drive from me and come the end of lockdown you must come and try my brew.
