Hi guys, I have been striking it pretty good on the gold this year getting a few specimens from the rich reefs out at nerrina, sadly they where not really worth posting about...but yesterday I had a breakthrough with the 4500 getting a 2g bit at 7 inch mark (PB for the year).target was only just audible at top with 15" evo, being a flat piece the more i dug down to it the more it was sounding like a quater ounce piece. was in enhance, had gain at 10 and stabilizer at 7 with man tune 128. thrilled.

well done GG,you know that in reality you're not going to miss a chunky piece.
A 2 g bit at 7" is good, you can be confident that you wont miss; say a 10 grmer at a foot/15"+++

thanks all for comments Very Happy

agree moredeep, best bang for buck way to find good nuggets these days is 4500 coupled with evo coils and I dont mind 9" elite:D

but natures way will always be the dictator, best thing is when the ground softens up and dries out, hopefully change the orientation of the nuggets in the ground, problem for me is all my good areas are to impermeable, to much clay in the way.

Once again well done to you GG. Look on the bright side, they might be small/tiny slugs of gold, but gold none the least. Besides, the aim of prospecting for gold is to find gold (regardless of what size it comes in) & that you did. So how does that saying go? scratch Oh yeah that's right V14  "Don't Worry, Be Happy". Shocked Q35  Thanks for posting up your finds GG.  cheers

Cheers kon. when found, gold finds do never depreciate this is true, I shore do feel lucky to blend into this great hobby with others.

Now w/e just gone, found quite a bit of gold In fact probably my best patch since 2016 over the moon with the 15 “ for ground coverage and sensitivity on all bits found. tweaked the 4500 to gain of 11 and stab of 8 , made for very slow swing speed but I was able to get a really good reading of the ground with good threshold.

cheers moredeep, multiple goldfield exploits result in this photo. One of the fields iv'e already disclosed in an earlier post but the others are my favourites, the more areas we have that we can go back to, the better the hobby will be as gold gets harder to find Wink

Gday members, following on from that 3g bit I dug in august I revisited this area after having used the 4500 and 5000 on it(they got good gold) but I liked this area so much that i dipped back into the deep end and bought another 7000, after having used this machine in 2016-17 I new what it could do on difficult gold types at depth if they happen to be around. well this recent slope that I've been working is very nice because the old timers stripped a small area back to red clay and then went straight along the hill, they left a nice little area untouched for me at the bottom of the hill before they doglegged and went up the slope, this is where I've been digging through quartz wash to find nuggets on the red clay, very fun digging indeed, i'm cleaning the best nugget of the w/e in alibrite, it was 4g another photo to come.
