Re: Weekend tiddlers
Good on ya moredeep. Well done on the finds.
No one should have to worry or be concerned to much about why things have slowed down a little in way of posts, for I do believe its that time of year once again.
Change is inevitable & as the weather starts to improve, I'm sure more people will be venturing out once more, in pursuit of that golden ointment. Only a matter of time before things start to liven up.
Cheers Kon.

Re: Weekend tiddlers
No worries Kon,I've enjoyed posting over the last few months only if it's to inspire others to get in the car and go bush for the day.
If they get a tiddler or two that's the added bonus.

I have been following you tiddler hunt and have enjoyed your posts. So good to see that you are finding a bit. Yes the show and tell has been very flat on here, but keep posting with your comments/story on bits. Those who cannot get out for whatever reason, I am sure will get enjoyment from your escapades. Loving it.

Re: Weekend tiddlers

Once again I went to an old spot I considered flogged by me,pinged these few amongst the crazy bouncing hot ground and the scattered aluminium foil.
The rounded 1 gm nug sounded like screaming foil as it was just under the surface, may have been left by me in a previous detect?I tend to leave the screaming signals in junky areas

As always perseverance pays off.

Re: Weekend tiddlers

Didn't quite crack the 1 gm this w/end but as usual twas nice out in the sticks.
I'm still amazed at iron stone and it properties ,this piece zipped like gold but on further inspection was good ol hot rock, stuck to the magnet with some force.
It puzzles me that it's so infrequent in some areas, you'd think it would be more of it, if you find one bit there should be lots more?
I found 2 iron stones over the w/end in the same spot, cutting it in half [SANDED ON THE BENCH GRINDER] revealed the iron like band running through it.
Geology at it's best.

Re: Weekend tiddlers
I can only think that its sparseness is due to its age vs its rate of oxidization.
The few bits you found may of been massive back in the day but its ferrous nature has left you but a few to find.
Cheers Hoff.

Nice example of an iron stone band, sandwiched in between the ironstone moredeep, well done. The thrill of the hunt for that "Golden Ointment" is what its all about. Any form of gold found is truly the surprise bonus.

Re: Weekend tiddlers

Things have been a little light on lately,so light they didn't rate on the Richter scale

Snagged the point 8 in the well and truly flogged whip stick state forest, finding gold in the whip-stick is a rare occurrence these days, makes it more special to ping the yellow ointment in this neck of the woods.

Re: Weekend tiddlers

It's been a little while for the tiddlers,& I've had the "can't be's" too bloody cold ,hot ,windy feral weather.
Any how I fixed my sovereign detector and been having a bit of fun with it,the two tiddlers were from the 5000.
It's always cool to find a button with your towns name on it.
The size of the musket ball would drop an elephant.
Plus it would have been nice if the threepence was the 21/22 overdate version, beggars can't be choosers I guess.

Re: Weekend tiddlers

The end is nigh for the 2019 tiddler

Pinged a 1.1 gmer today at a depth shown in the pic [nugg on gum leaf] ,still very happy with the old 5000 and elite coil cranking away in audio boost,I'm still impressed
after all these years.
A couple of other tiddlers from my previous outings.
The 1.1 gmer was from a controlled burned area here in Castlemaine, dirty dusty detecting, enough to make the wife gasp when I got home,
"I've never seen you so dirty" covered in soot,I replied that I enjoyed being dirty

Oh well 15 days before the end of the year is up,plenty of time for more TIDDLERS

Re: Weekend tiddlers
Very nice nuggies again there moredeep.
At first glance at your top pic I thought your nuggy was still in the ground to the left of the pointer.
Thanks for sharing your nice nuggies and good luck on your next outings.
Cheers.
Mike.

Re: Weekend tiddlers

I must apologies for my previous post, declaring that there only tiddlers left in castlemaine.
Two of the tiddlers in the previous pics were rough in appearance, suggesting they were ? reef shedding & hadn't traveled far.
I decided to go back today and try further down the slope hoping to snag something bigger.
It was a nice big broad signal, unable to balance it out.
There were only two thoughts ,junk or gold, once I got into the white pipe clay material,I got a little EXCITED

THANKS SANTA.
