Police are searching for two offenders who stole metal detectors from a Maryborough gold prospecting store on Tuesday night.
Between 8.30pm and 9pm on May 29, the offenders cut the padlock on the security roller shutter and entered Coiltek Gold Centre on Drive In Court.
First Constable Brendan McManus said once inside, they grabbed two detectors and then left the scene, heading in an unknown direction.
First Constable McManus said it was a “quick job” and the offenders were only inside the store for a very short period of time before fleeing.
The thieves were believed to be male and were wearing balaclavas at the time of the crime.
The stolen detectors are worth $9000 and $2000.
Anyone who might have witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact Maryborough police on 5460 3300.

Re: Detectors Stolen
Thanks for the heads up Wombat. I hope these lowlifes get what they deserve. I can't stand people who feel entitled to steal of hard working people. Criminals need to be deported to an island where they can run their own show, see how they like it being in a society with no rules. It would also be cheaper than the prisons we have now. Three strikes and your off our island and into their own paradise permanently.
Cheers
