i am bored, pushing my luck, three outa three is not bad.
well a new year is on us, and over the break i was wondering where i could possibily go to find more elusive nugs. the is shining with a vengance. and i am sick of and so decided to and start doing my known spots again.
so up at four thirty each morning and after a for good luck, i found myself at one of the nearest spots where i had found some pieces near some broken down tin and assorted rubbish. sure enough around the edges of this crap, i was able to find a .5gram nug. as ol sol got hotter and me the cold water in the esky helped me keep going till 2pm. reckon i had done enough in the bottom of this creek. but one more on my way back to the car turned up a 4gram ironstone covered i cannot master on this site, but i never tell a lie when it comes to i have over the years and get to over the years.
second time out i got for .7grams at a different spot. was all day in 40degree temps and it took many so ol but i reckon i have at that spot. mans gotta be crazy ... before sunup till 3pm in 41degree temps. but there is a saying -- we are all crazy, some just a bit more than others
third day out for the last week ol still doing his stuff but with and out of the cot at 4am i went to a furtherest out spot. with the experience of the last two days out, i had stocked up the esky with extra frozen water, energy drinks ... had me i am:Q12: and after hours of i thought i would give a half hour to the spot only fifty meters away. i had found a ten gram piece there about fourteen years back when i was pretty new to the game. (i was chasing a sound that i now know was burnt charcoal, but at the bottom of the hole, about fourteen inches, was the 10gram nug ) pure but i claimed at the time pure skill .... about ten meters from my charcoal find i gets a change in my "threshold" which, the way i use my machine doesnt exist (you should all know me by now), anyway i checked out this different to norm faint noise, down to soil after three inches of leaf litter and topsoil removed it was now obvious to center on, great relief when it was still there after another six inches, down to river gravel. i decided to change from normal to difficult to confirm it was a signal and not just ground noises. nothin, s#!t, but been there and dun that before, so as i am very pigheaded, i dug down another three inches or so in more loose creek gravels, switched to difficult (useing the 7000 by the way, in case you havent guessed) and finally got a signal in --that dummed down mode -- telling it as it is, no appoligies.
at a full depth of 17 inches still in creek gravels, i pulled out a 9.16gram specimen which has about 8grams of gold in it. so to ol i
0ne didnt notice it was about 42 degrees, but as my cold water was about finished, i decdided to retreat back to my fridge and some
now, the next day, i am sitting in the airconditioned room, still celebrating, and scheming how i can reconfiger my 7000 to hear all those other smaller nugs that are sitting down deep in this bottomless gravel. i have found about a dozen small pieces in this small gravel area at various depths, so i know there is more there. (i will admit here, i maxed out my machine in volume and gain and dug ten holes with hot rocks in them, plus one hole with a small paper staple down in gravel about six inches, bugger, how did it get there, as that was the only crap found, beside hot rocks, for the day)
anyway fellas, hope i didnt miss any emoticons, would have taken me a lot shorter time to skite without them. but this story just goes to show, even somebody as good as me ????? doesnt get them all, been floggin this spot for 16 years and it is still producing ... kev

Very entertaining to read (look at) Kev but stick to writing please mate. It took me 10 minutes to decipher your yarn.
Rob.
P.S. Congrats on your gold & well done for having a crack in that heat.
