I like it  but I think it is a bit out of date ?

Some body else calculated that you would only get about $80 for the cans ?

Thank Rowdy the question was tongue in cheek I expected google would have to come to aid the young ones. I can still remember paying less than £9 (9 quid) for a 44 gal drum.

5.73694 for US liters / 100 kilometers and 6.88978 for imperial liters / 100 kilometers

I remember when beer was so cheap that nobody cracked up when it was their shout. Laughing And beer came in real bottles and not the toy stubbies and cans of today. Hell they are so small these days they should have baby dummies on the top. Then When the steel cans came out you had a good grip if you could crush one in your hand. Now the sooks of today think they are tough if they can crush an aluminium can..Rolling Eyes .......That is like crunching up a bit of paper.

I can remember those days. Now when I go to the pub and see all the old blokes they buy "pony's" and only get half of it in their mouth because they shake too much. Embarassed

What about the Friday night "happy hour" in the Conglomerate Pub, Nullagine.
$5.00 for a huge basket of fish & chips, (went down well after a week of eating out of a can)
$1.00/can beer.
The first ever time in there I pulled in after a long dusty drive and fronted the bar for a beer. The first two cans evaporated before looking around to see I was the only one in the bar other than one indigenous gentleman.
Next thing a fella tapped me on the shoulder and asked me to follow him to the bar on other side of corner wall. When I got seated there he turned to me and said, "You don't drink in there that's the black fellas bar?"
Wonder if anything has changed?

That was a party trick, I won many free beers (Especially from the Yankee sailors when they were in port) being able to crush a can one hand and fold it back and forwards still using one hand until it snapped in half.

I used to put one hand top and bottom and squash it till both ends almost met or squeeze it round the middle between my thumb and pointer finger till it all came together in the middle.....Had a good grip in those days. Very Happy

Now if a dh wants to think he is tough he king hits you when you are not looking and then runs off like the gutless yellow pile of vomit that he is.

I had a gutless turd attack me from behind one night in Portland back in the sixties. I doubt that he tried it on anybody-else for quite a while after that night.

Yeah in the early seventies I was in Katherine for a while and discovered by accident the Black fellas bar.Took me a second or three to twig onto my mistake before I was shown the door. It is a long time ago but I think the Pub was Kirbys, might be wrong butt??....Had a great time in Katherine and I said I would go back one day but it hasn't happened yet

I remember not getting into a Bar in PNG there was too many bodies and chunder on the floor to get past the door. Far worst than the public free toilets in Kal. Shocked on money day.

I was barman in the black fellas bar of the Don hotel in Darwin for a bit -1974
just before Tracy. The only trouble was when a Gin came in with a white fella.

An oz of the good stuff then was $30.

I can still remember when 4 bob would buy a pack of smokes, a gallon of petrol, or a loaf of bread and bottle of milk and the paper. Then they changed over to metric and we were paying 40 cents per ltr for petrol. scratch affraid

Yes Mike,
Diesel was always about half the price of petrol until 4WD's became popular now we find it is rarely a few cents cheaper.
They are struggling in the oil producing countries because of the low barrel prices and we are seeing record high retail. Go figure?
Australia has some of the largest untapped oil reserves, must be saving it for the GG children?
