Last Wednesday night 15th Feb our Central Branch had their 1st AMG. We had a great number of our members turning up, about 41 in total, with 6 new members signing up on the night. Firstly we had our normal monthly meeting, reporting on the pro & con's of the proposed new parks for the Golden Triangle, The Great National Park in East Victoria and what the Maryborough Council ideas of turning the whole of the GoldenTriangle into a World Wide Heritage Park for tourism.
There was also a motion put forward for 2 new recruitment drive ideas to get more new Branch members. Both of these were passed.
We then closed the meeting for 10 min. and then kick of again for our AGM. to select a new committee for 2017. I was re-elected as President (Bill Schulz), Vice- President re-elected "Phil Whiddon", Secretary "Jim Wright" (who only joined the PMAV a few months ago), Treasurer re-elected "Peter Crook". and 6 committee members, some new and some re-elected. We also now have a Raffle Organizer. All up we now have 11 people on the Branch Committee including 2 very lovely ladies. Thank you girls for coming on board. I am still the Activities Officer, being re-elected.
Our next detector outing is this Sunday 19th. We are meeting in the car park of the Ripple Restaurant (this use to be known as the Goldfield Restaurant) Maryborough at 9am. The restaurant is on the Maryborough/ Ballarat Rd about 1.5km out of Maryborough from High St. going towards Talbot. All PMAV members are more than welcome to join us on the day. We have a B.B.Q and drinks on the day with all proceeds going to the branch. Our next branch meeting is on Wed. night the 15th. March at 7.30 at the Maryborough Highland Society in High St.
