Re: Makro Gold Racer
Had a reason to visit a beach, brought the Au Gold Finder along to see how it would perform on wet sand at the water edge.
Passing over an expanse of dry sand with the detector on, it sounded off with a good loud audio with the Green LED showing, that made me stop for a quick check, after removing a few layers of dry sand without finding the source of the loud signal in the scraped area, it was time to get the pinpointer engaged.
Target had been moved, after a while the pinpointer eventually got within target detection range, this first target turned out to be a 925 backing for an ear stud.
Second target was the tiny imitation of a coin, hang around for a while to check out other detectable loud targets showing the Green LED indicator, one turned out to be a 50¢ coin.
If one have the patience this detector could be very useful in finding micro jewellery including fine Gold chains.

Re: Makro Gold Racer
Am wondering if the AU Gold Finder would be any better than a Whites GMT or Fisher Gold Bug Pro?
The GMT is good in the gold fields but not so flash at the beach over wet sand but the GB is pretty good for gold and the beach.
At well over 1000 AUD it (Gold Finder) is not cheap?

Re: Makro Gold Racer
AU Gold Finder and the RACER Gold are the same detectors...one in digital form, the other in analogue. Both sport 56khz as the operating freq.
Both units will outperform the GMT in our gold fields...as for on the beach. hmmm? Not the best choice for beach hunting, but given the way the controls can be manipulated on both machines...and both also sporting Disc functionality....and large 15x13"coils....why not.?

Re: Makro Gold Racer
I guess it boils down to whether they can ground balance wet salt sand beaches.

Purchased and imported one Brand New, with two coils including fitted skid plates and Head Phones for less than $Au 1000.

Re: Makro Gold Racer
That sounds fair Ivanll.
I have a lot of respect for your tecta knowledge and if you say it will work fine on the beach then as far as I am concerned it will.
I was assuming an Aussie price through an Aussie dealer. There would have to be a mark up otherwise there would be no point selling them.

Re: Makro Gold Racer
Did not search the wet sand with the Gold Finder on this outing, had heaps of fun on the dry sand watching the Red and Green LEDs flashing .... thus far the coloured indicators have been spot on.
Have not found an Au Gold Finder dealer in Oz.
